Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Maldevi collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit maldevi.com, place an order or contact us. Please read it carefully. By using our website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

Who We Are (Data Controller)

The data controller responsible for your personal data is NATIONWIDE INTERIORS LTD, trading as Maldevi, a company registered in England and Wales (Company Number 14592001, VAT Number GB443692282), with its business address at 10 Eccles Rd, Orrell, Wigan WN5 0HR, United Kingdom.

In this policy, “personal information” and “personal data” mean the same thing: any information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you, as defined in the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. For any question about your personal data, contact us at info@maldevi.com.

Personal Data We Collect

Depending on how you use our website, we collect your contact details, such as your name, billing and delivery address, phone number and email address. When you place an order, we process transaction details, such as the items you buy, return or exchange, the order value and your payment confirmation. Card and wallet payments are handled by Shopify’s secure payment processing; we never see or store your full card number.

If you create an account, we keep your account details, such as your login and preferences. When you contact us, we keep the content of your messages. When you browse our website, we automatically collect device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and how you interact with them, partly through cookies.

Where Your Data Comes From

Most personal data comes directly from you, for example when you place an order, create an account, sign up to our newsletter or contact us. Some data is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use our website. We may also receive limited data from our service providers, such as Shopify, our payment processor and carriers, when they handle part of your order on our behalf.

How We Use Your Personal Data

We use your personal data to process and deliver your orders, take payment, handle returns, exchanges and refunds, and keep you informed about your order. We also use it to provide customer support, manage your account, prevent fraud and keep our website secure.

With your consent, we use your data to send you marketing emails and to show you relevant advertising, including on Google. We also use it to understand how our website is used so that we can improve it, and to meet our legal obligations, such as keeping tax and accounting records.

Legal Bases for Processing Your Personal Data

Under the UK GDPR we only process your personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so. We rely on performance of a contract to process your order, payment, delivery, returns and refunds, and on legal obligation to keep tax and accounting records and comply with consumer law. We rely on our legitimate interests to prevent fraud, secure our website, improve our services and respond to enquiries, where these interests are not overridden by your rights. We rely on your consent for marketing emails and for non-essential cookies such as analytics and advertising, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Cookies, Analytics and Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to run our store, remember your basket and preferences, measure how our website is used and show relevant advertising. These include cookies set by Shopify, Google Analytics and Google Ads (including Google Shopping). Non-essential cookies are only placed after you give consent through our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also manage cookies in your browser settings and learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Marketing Emails

If you sign up to our newsletter or agree at checkout, we send you emails about new products and offers. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also email info@maldevi.com to opt out. We continue to send you emails that are needed for your orders, such as order confirmations and shipping updates.

Third Parties We Share Your Data With

We never sell your personal data. We share it only where needed to run our business. Our store is hosted by Shopify, which processes data to provide the website and checkout; you can read how Shopify handles personal data in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy at shopify.com/legal/privacy. Payments are handled by our payment processors.

To deliver your order, we share your name, delivery address and order details with our fulfilment partners and carriers, some of which are located outside the UK. We share limited data with Google for analytics and advertising, based on your cookie choices. We may also disclose personal data where required by law, to protect our rights or in connection with the sale or reorganisation of our business.

International Transfers

Some of our service providers, including Shopify and our fulfilment partners, process personal data outside the United Kingdom. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK, we make sure it is protected by an adequacy decision or by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it. As a guide, we keep order and transaction records for 6 years to meet UK tax and accounting requirements. Customer support messages are kept for up to 2 years. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete your account.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, and payments are processed through Shopify’s PCI DSS-compliant systems. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information to us through unsecured channels.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected and to have your data deleted. You also have the right to restrict or object to our processing, to receive your data in a portable format and to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@maldevi.com. We may need to verify your identity before we act on your request, and we respond within one month. We will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Children

Our website is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at info@maldevi.com and we will do our best to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection: ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our practices or the law. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
